The Method

Breath. Cold. Sharing.

The framework underneath every SelfWilding Men's Project gathering — a day circle, a 3-day Initiation, an ongoing Brotherhood call. Three pillars, four archetypes, one practice.

Three Pillars

Where the work happens.

Breath & Mind

Structured breathwork — Wim Hof cycles, connected breathing, conscious pauses — to regulate the nervous system and quiet the noise. What the mind can't reason its way out of, the breath can move through. Clarity comes as a side effect, not a goal.

Cold & Body

Cold immersion, ice baths, and cold showers — the Wim Hof Method as a daily discipline, not a stunt. The body learns that discomfort is survivable and then teaches the mind the same lesson. Resilience is trained, not talked about.

Sharing & Spirit

The circle — one man speaking, the rest witnessing. Honest speech, ritual, fire, silence. This is where isolation ends and brotherhood begins. Spirit here is not doctrine; it's what shows up when men stop performing and start telling the truth.

The Four Archetypes

Four directions every man needs.

Drawn from the classic King · Warrior · Magician · Lover framework by Robert Moore and Douglas Gillette — not proprietary to any one organization, and used here as language, not as ideology.

The King

Responsibility, blessing, and steady ground. The King is the part of a man that takes ownership of his life and can bless others without diminishing himself. Activated on the closing morning of The Initiation, when each man speaks his commitments aloud.

The Warrior

Courage, discipline, and clean action. The Warrior does what needs doing and holds a boundary without cruelty. Trained in the cold, in physical challenge, in the discipline of showing up to a circle you don't feel like attending.

The Magician

Awareness of pattern. The Magician sees the loop he's stuck in and names it. Activated in breathwork, in journaling, in the moment during a circle when another man's story surfaces your own. Insight without action is a trick; insight with action is the work.

The Lover

Feeling, presence, connection. The Lover is the part of a man that can be moved — by beauty, by grief, by another man's honesty — without shutting down. Activated on Friday night of The Initiation, in the first sharing, when the mask starts to slip.

How It Fits Together

Every gathering, the whole method.

Whether it's a single day circle, the three days of The Initiation, or a monthly Brotherhood call, we move through all three pillars — breath, cold, sharing — even if in miniature. The four archetypes give us shared language for what's being activated in each part: the Lover opening the room, the Warrior meeting the cold, the Magician seeing the pattern, the King committing to what comes next.
